This is the first of 6 Earthbound covers I'll be releasing in the coming weeks! Made using the brilliant C700 VST

Made using C700 This uses SNES instruments and SNES style echo. Other than that it doesn’t strictly follow the limits of the SNES card with regards to note limit, etc.

Started as a one hour battle on Battle of the Bits where I had to compose a piece in one hour. Was I able to get something that I would be comfortable posting on here an an hours time? Fuck no! So I fixed some things.

It has a lot of notes and obviously doesn't follow the SNES sound card's limits. The game isn't done yet but you can check out the website here: hacksawunit.itch.io/onefloortower midi visualization by MIDItrail

Help me out on Patreon ► https://www.patreon.com/nelward Based on "To Sunshine Forest" by Shigesato Itoi and "Save The Miners" by Hirokazu Tanaka and Keiichi Suzuki. Obviously, when I do these, I'm not taking credit for any of the source material. I just love the music from these games and think that Earthbound fans would like to hear music from other games in the series (Mother 3, Earthbound Beginnings) mashed up in a "bizarro world" scenario thats as faithful to the EB soundtrack as possible. I try to stick with the tunes I really like the most… Save The Miners and To Sunshine Forest are some of my absolute favorites. I was old enough to be musically aware when I first played Mother 3, and I remember being intrigued by the minor major seventh that resolves to a major seventh chord a whole step down so naturally. This one was interesting because Save the Miners actually has 2 channels devoted to the bass- one is for the typical Earthbound bass tone, and the other one is a sine wave that gives it a thicker sound.

Based on "Monty on the Run" theme by Rob Hubbard from Monty on the Run for the Commodore 64 Shoutouts to Metatron. I promised him I would make this when I was drunk, and I'm glad I stuck to it. Normally I'm pretty minimal with my arrangements but I tried seeing what would happen if I take the opposite of that approach. I had never heard of Monty on the Run or this song prior to this, but thanks Rob Hubbard (not to be confused with L Ron Hubbard of Scientology fame) the original: www.youtube.com/watch?v=93nIljXpqUY footage from AI82 Retrogaming Longplays & Reviews: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzoM... I don't think Monty Mole from Monty on the Run is the same Monty Mole from Super Mario World. But they share the same name.
